Exercise is recommended in the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the association between exercise intensity and disease progression and severity is unknown. Federal guidelines recommend >=150 min/week of moderate exercise or >=75 min/week of vigorous exercise. For additional health benefits, >=300 min/week of moderate or >=150 min/week of vigorous exercise are recommended. The study aim was to determine the relationship between meeting federal guidelines for exercise and the histological severity of NAFLD.
