Sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) has been shown to be associated with several diabetes risk factors, including total body fat, central obesity, and hyperinsulinemic insulin resistance. We examined the cross-sectional association between SHBG and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and NIDDM.
