The Diabetic Foot Consortium (DFC) was established to create a clinical trial network to research diabetic foot ulcers, improve wound healing, and prevent further complications like amputations among American adults living with diabetes. More specifically, DFC focuses on identifying and analyzing biomarkers to inform treatment and predict ulcer healing and likelihood of recurrence.
